it started something like this:
me: "honey, we should go on more vacations."
brian: "agreed. where do you want to go?"
me: "everywhere. damn, i hate being broke!"
and a seed was planted. we've always had some wanderlust, but the gumption to plan out loads of bank account-draining journeys never was our thing. we needed a travel plan of action. enter the 50 by 50 goal.
and here we are...chronicling our attempt to see our whole...ahem...glorious country. at the dawn of 2011, we'd seen 12 states together. only 38 to go, and 16 years to get it done!
